One Planet Journeys

is an eco-travel venture that focuses on the individual imprint of a traveller. We aim to transform this imprint into a positive contribution towards the preservation of the environment and culture of the Kumaon Himalayas by our emphasis on the 3 E’s of Environment, Energy and Education.

Ancient cultural practices and customs of this remote region were primarily related to nature and its preservation, and our role as a responsible travel company would ensure that they are restored and protected.

Gainful employment of locals is our single biggest focus even if it means giving priority to sourcing and training them from scratch, over hiring skilled and readily available labour.

With our efforts and the co-operation of the conscientious traveller, we ensure that the carbon footprint of each traveller is minimized. Collective travel to reduce transport, walking and trekking where possible are just some of those means. In the higher Himalayas, the source of energy is very limited and often non - existent.

We aim to preserve energy resources wherever we travel, be it a home stay, a guesthouse or even a luxury hotel property.
